TRIANGLE POSE THURSDAY

I am not an expert at yoga but I love learning new poses. I’m always trying to improve my fluidity and flow every day.  After doing a lot of running lately with my half marathon training. I have found that waking up to do the Triangle Pose Stretch(Trikonasana ) helps me to concentrate better and kick off my day!

This pose helps STRETCH the groin and gluteus muscles, hips, calves, shoulders, and various joints.  It helps to OPEN UP the muscles in the chest and spine as well.

Doing this maneuver consistently helps me to increase the STRENGTH in my knee and ankle joints, abdominal and oblique muscles.

So many patients come to me for BACK PAIN evaluation.  This maneuver can help to increase the FLEXIBILITY of the back muscles with a gentle twisting motion and may assist in relieving sciatica symptoms.  Maintaining back and core elasticity is important for people with OSTEOPOROSIS.

Other benefits of this yoga move may include reducing stress, decreasing blood pressure. Improving digestion, massaging and stimulating the functions of abdominal organs, and promoting balance!
