Recently, I was speaking to a few women about diff Recently, I was speaking to a few women about different religious traditions including observing #Lent in the #Catholic religion.
Usually during this time an individual makes some sacrifice and gives up something. In the past, I’ve given up coffee, caramel candy, ice cream, red meat, complaining etc. I was surprised when one woman said that instead of giving up something she wanted to do something different this time and not give up on dreaming. Her Lenten promise or goal was to allow herself to “Dream for a few weeks and not hold back her deepest wishes and aspirations”. It really made me pause.

Sometimes for some people as we get older, we get caught up in our current profession, daily routines and we become complacent and forget about the prior dreams and passions we wanted to pursue at one time.

It is always a good idea to keep those dreams at the surface of our minds and not let them get buried.

Sometimes it is ok to just pick a day/night of the week and let your mind just dream a little.
#Stayhungry
#Staymotivated
#Stayinspired.
Find the joy in dreaming and don’t let it go completely.

March is #NationalDisabilityAwarenessMonth! #Arth March is #NationalDisabilityAwarenessMonth!

#Arthritis and other conditions associated with autoimmune disease can cause significant disability. Arthritis can be characterized by joint pain, stiffness, swelling and decreased mobility resulting in activity and functional limitations.

According to the #CDC, arthritis is the leading cause of work disability among US adults.

It is astounding to hear that according to a prior National Health Interview survey, an estimated 58.5 million of adults aged 18 years or older have self reported doctor diagnosed arthritis and it is projected that by 2040, 78 million adults aged aged 18 years or older have doctor diagnosed arthritis

Arthritis and #autoimmuneillnesses do cause work disability, more than conditions like #Diabetes and High blood pressure.

Some simple activities such as walking a few blocks, grasping small objects, sitting for more than an hour, climbing stairs, bending or even stretching hands above the head can prove to be difficult.

It is important for those living with any disability but especially those individuals living with arthritis to know that physicians and loved ones do recognize the extent of physical limitation and emotional distress that can be caused by this disease.

In the midst of the chaos of life, it is so import In the midst of the chaos of life, it is so important to be alone with yourself and your thoughts. Sometimes we need that time alone to appreciate and love ourselves more. Think about what you want, what makes you happy, where you have been and where you want to go.
Take some time, even a few minutes to embrace the happiness that comes with self love.

Happy weekend!
